Black Wool Cloak

Black Wool Cloak

This cloak is something I made for my self when I one day had the good fortune to come across 9 yards of black wool for only $2.00/yard. I had to make myself a cloak. The cloak is a 3/4 circle with lace applied down the front and around the hood. It is lined with a deep purple satin and has arm holes at the side front. The front ties with a decorative cord that has been finished with two tassels. One of the nice things about a cloak is that it can span many periods with out screaming anachronism. In keeping with the multiple uses of a cloak, I made the hood and capelet detachable. None of us have the closet space or money to own something for every period, style or social station so it is important to get as much use out of each garment as possible. That is why there is more than one way to wear many of my designs.
