One thing I love to do is surface design and silk painting.  I took classes in collage and really loved marblizing fabrics.  I some how thought I would get to do more surface design in my carreer.  I guess it didnt happen because of my working as a draper at the opera.  In a really big well organized shop like SF Opera, all the surface design, painting and dying is handled by a specialist.  If I had spent more of my carrer working in smaller shops, I probably would have been able to use those skills more.
