Victorian Waistcoat
Victorian Waistcoat
This is a waistcoat that I made for my husband. It is made from a wide waled velveteen in three colors. The back is made from a chocolate cotton. There are keyhole button holes and three welt pockets, including a watch pocket. The form is slightly larger than my husband so the buttons and back are straining slightly in the picture, but it fits him perfectly. This waistcoat exhibits all the proper traits for a 1840s garment except maybe the metal and plastic buttons.
