Antique Silk Waist Coat
This was a very special project.
This gentleman came to me with some silk his Grandmother had brought back from the orient many years ago and he wanted a Victorian Westcoat made from it. As you can see the results were stunning. The garment might appear to be made from one of the modern brocades so popular right now but a closure inspection reveals a luster that can be only silk.
Westcoat includes 2 welt pockets, bound edges (to extend the life of the silk) and enamel buttons.
It is pictured on a dress that is far to small for it but I it fits the gentleman wonderfully.
