In my hours pouring over the movie, I decided that the shirt was probably made out of silk charmuse or some silk like synthetic. I found some rayon with a pearly satin face that happened to be machine washable and $2/yard so I made it out of that. The actual shirt closes up the front. In fact you can see the hooks behind the broach in some of the close up shots. I made my shirt close up the back. It was simply more practical for future uses. I also rented this shirt to Altarena Theather in Alameda for a fruity Prince Charming character that was played by a woman.
