circa 1760 Court Dress
Working with the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco I fabricated pieces for the display of antique garments. For this dress I made the Stomacher and Underskirt from a leaf green silk satin. A simple design in a complimentary color was chosen for an understated effect. I also acted as a consultant on period posture in the construction of the form. All of the pictures of this garment are washed out because I dropped my camera and it opened slightly.
As with all of the projects at the museum my contribution was a small portion of the work done to preserve the garment. I must thank all of the Fine Arts Museum staff for the opportunity to work with them on such wonderful things.
