Phantom of the Opera Dress

Phantom of the Opera Dress

The dress was made for Les Ball de Vampires in 1997. The ball is a Halloween event hosted by www.PEERS.org. It was modeled after a Phantom of the Opera costume. It is more Hollywood than Victorian. It was made to look like it came off of a movie set with modern clothes and period inspirations rather than trying to be a truly period garment. The dress itself is composed of an under and over skirt and bodice. The bodice is lightly boned, sits off the shoulders and laces up the back. The under skirt is made from the same black rayon fille that the bodice is made from. The over skirt is polyester chiffon with rows of shinny black rayon trim going slightly less than half way up.
