Labyrinth of Jareth Mask

Labyrinth of Jareth Mask

I decided several years ago to make myself the dress from the 2005 flier and to make my husband the outfit from the 2006 flier. I didnt like what the girl in the 2006 flier was wearing and the 2005 dress seemed like a good fit. The only major way I departed from the original design was in color. My husband's coat ended up teal instead of green so my dress I also made in teal rather than green. I look awful in green anyway. This is one of two masks I made for our 2009 Labyrinth of Jareth costumes. The mask is made from multiple layers of leather. Some hardened and other tooled and then painted with acrylic paints. The man on the flier dosent have to worry about his mask falling off. I was very concerned that the actual mask would be very difficult to keep on. After a great deal of experimentation and some clever thinking, my husband and I devised a strap across the back that keeps the mask on even when he takes a bow. See also the Leather Goblin Mask made to go with the Labyrinth of Jareth Dress, and also the Labyrinth of Jareth Suit that this mask was worn with.
